In all my years working in the health industry one of the most common complaints I heard was about dry skin, rashes or just plain old dull skin. Well I started doing some research about it and I found out some very interesting things, like if you drink enough carrot juice your skin can actually take on a slightly orange tinge because of all the beta carotene. Or if you eat way too much meat your skin can start to look very pale. But the most interesting thing I discovered through all my reading and interviewing was about the benefits of fish oil.
Pretty much any leafy green food is good for your midsection, since the calorie count in greens is minimal. I’ve heard before that when you eat celery you are actually burning more calories by eating the celery then is in the celery itself!
Original ayurveda protocol calls for sesame oil, and Dr. Karach recommends sunflower oil, but you can use any kind of unrefined oil. Cold pressed preferably. My favorites are coconut oil, buy cbd oil and almond oil. Oil swishing with any oil will whiten your teeth especially if your using coconut oil. The only oil I would not recommend for this technique is olive oil. It can stain your teeth yellow.
Today’s diets encourage lowering fat consumption. This does not mean all fats. You should by all means avoid saturated fat. In moderation, poly and monounsaturated fats are the good guys. Fat will help with the absorption of fat-soluble vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K. It’s also a concentrated source of energy, and the essential fatty acids in some fats are vital for many important body functions. Your body needs 50 grams of fat each day. You should try to eat foods rich in omega-3, which is an important polyunsaturated fat.
Before moving on to a fun cracker recipe, there’s one more important item I want to mention. You need variety in your diet. Making the same thing every day out of habit or convenience is a very unhealthy habit. Think of the rainbow when you make your foods; be sure that on a daily basis you are eating from many of the colors of the rainbow: purple, red, orange, green and yellow. Each food contains its own gift for you, packaged by the Creator in just the right way to be sure you are taking in all the necessary nutrients. It’s hard to go wrong if you choose from a very wide assortment of foods.
These foods should be added to a daily diet to obtain Omega 3’s. 1 serving of salmon can provide up to 1000mgs of both DHA and EPA. This provides the required Omega 3’s for 4 days. This is the reason doctors suggest consuming fish twice a week.
Water not only helps to curb the appetite but it actually helps to flush out excess fat. Every now and then if I eat something that I’m feeling a little guilty for I will guzzle a quart of water immediately afterward. It dilutes the digestive fluids and accelerates the passage of the junk food from your body.
