Our 7 week motorhoming vacation is drawing to an end but I cannot go home without mentioning the wonderful park we spent a week at in our 34′ motorhome in December of 2008. This is by-far one of my favorite places to be!
Public parks are great choices to get out and enjoy the wonders of nature. Why not pack up an old-fashioned picnic lunch, throw in a blanket, and spend an entire day at one of our beautiful city parks? Of course, Game Boys, DS’s and ipods are NOT allowed! How about skipping stones across a lake, flying a kite, or quietly reading a book under a tree? These are all things we did as kids, long before the electronic age hit and dramatically changed the way kids are entertained. Way back when, we actually knew how to have fun without headphones, buttons and batteries! Summer is the perfect time to show our kids these simple, yet oh-so-treasured and rare pastimes. One of the main reasons I go to Lancelin so often is the Sand Dunes. These can be found by following the main road through Lancelin, turning left and then you will see a big sign saying ‘off-road area’ on the right. If you have a two wheel drive car you can still drive in, just make sure you park on the hard rocky surface at the base of the dunes. Don’t try and take a two wheel drive car through even a little bit of sand; we have pulled a number of tourists out! The dunes get used by buggies, motorbikes, sand boarders and four wheel drives. There are usually at least a few serious injuries at these dunes each year (primarily motorbike riders), so make sure you are careful. You can hire motorbikes out by the hour (but it’s expensive) or you can simply walk around and have a good time.
One unique overlook in called Turkey Spur where you have to walk up around 100 plus steps to reach the top of the overlook which is really a combination of a couple of huge rocks. On the way up to Turkey Spur overlook there’s a crack in the rocks that provides cool air year round.
There are 6 people on a volleyball positions at any given time; three in front and three in the back. The six play the game from those starting positions until a point is scored. The ball changes hands, and when it returns again to the first team they rotate, each player becoming the man (or woman) to his side (the back line moves to the left, the front line moves to the right).
If you have suffered from an injury to one of your arms or legs it is important that you still exercise the healthy limbs to maintain or improve you fitness level. In this way, you can sustain or even increase the strength in your undamaged limbs. In addition, the exercise you give the healthy arm or leg acts a stimulus to the muscles and nerves of the injured limb, helping it to retain its strength.
Food always taste better outside. That’s why outdoor grills are so popular, and there are so many to choose from. Depending on whether you are a gourmet outdoor chef or a basic outdoor cook, you can choose an elaborate outdoor stove or a simple grill. Before you make your purchase, investigate the various options, look at quality and safety features, and consider your cooking needs and preferences. Gas grills are very popular these days, but charcoal still works great. With a simple charcoal grill chimney, you can light your fire without using a smelly and dangerous lighter fluid.
There are other places to look in the St. Louis area. St. Louis has three professional sport teams. Many single guys like to attend them. Keep in mind, that even though they are there to enjoy the game, they always have an eye open for their favorite game. Women.
